Space has to be one of my longest interests when I think about it. I've been constantly facinated about the whole subject since shortly after I could talk. Asking my parents such questions as "what's on the dark side of the Moon?" ... at the time they were unaware there even *was* a dark side to the Moon. I must mention that I also like Pink Floyd's answer to the question and to be honest their answer is enough for me ...

At the moment the telescope I have in a Celestron 114GT, a computerised automatic 'Go To' system. Its a 4.5" Newtownian Refractor. Not an expensive one either but damn is this a good unit. If your thinking of getting into the whole deal this is a really good place to start.

In addition to this I own a copy of Starry Night Pro 4.5 on PC which incorporates a control mechanism for this scope with the right cables. This combination is absolutely unbeatable. Really easy to use and really powerful at the same time.
