I still, after all these years, have a very sour taste in my mouth regarding the Apple developer tax.
I actually think it’s disgusting to charge developers for enriching their app eco-system. As a predominantly MS developer comparing what MS gives me for free and what Apple doesn’t give me, yet charges me real money to develop on their platforms, is daylight robbery in my opinion.
I don’t know one developer that doesn’t detest the whole provisioning profile dances. The awkward build processes that only Apple introduces to my CI/CD world. The irony that the only company that charges me is also the one that generates the most issues and work is just an extra slap in the face.
Apple are incredibly arrogant as company.
Never wonder how they are the most cash rich company on the planet. It’s obvious … the Apple Tax.
